High Sierra Energy Foundation is thrilled to announce the SCE Direct Install Small Business program is coming back, April 1 through June 30 of this year! In 2011, we successfully retrofitted more than 400 businesses throughout Mono & Inyo County!
If you are new to the program, had retrofits done in 2011 or didn’t qualify last time, you may be eligible again since there are a lot of new energy efficiency products for 2014 such as swapping light bulbs for LEDs! Attached is the fact sheet that has the list of products that are available at absolutely no cost to you! If you qualify, every business can receive up to $10,000 per service account that includes an energy assessment as well as the installation!
Since the program is commencing next month, Rick Phelps and I are currently doing outreach to businesses and we would love to put you on our list to see if you qualify. Please email Stayden@highsierraenergy.org, your business name, physical address and the contact information of the person who would sign the authorization form to do the work, such as an owner or manager.
Starting April 1, SCE will be sending contractors to our area to help businesses identify ways to save electricity. The energy consultation takes 5 to 10 minutes and they’ll recommend improvements and assist you in filling out the authorization form, as well as schedule an installation appointment, again all at no cost!
To ensure the success of the program in our communities, SCE contractors will visit every qualified business customer three times, so if they miss you on their first round, they’ll make two more attempts.

The City of Bishop proposes to change its water and sewer fees starting in July 2014 and continuing through June 2019. Fee changes are to fund operating and maintenance costs, pay for critical repairs and replacements to the city’s infrastructure, comply with mandated health and environmental requirements, and improve fairness.
The proposed water and sewer fees are shown on the back of this page and reflect changes to customer categories and annual increases for inflation.
Before taking action on the proposed fees, the City Council will hold a public hearing on February 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council chambers, 301 West Line Street. Upon conclusion of the hearing, the Council will consider adoption of the proposed fees. If written protests against the proposed fees are submitted by a majority of affected parcels, the City will not approve the proposed fees.
